Taylor’s Things is an independent marketplace built around a simple standard: whether we make it, build it, source it or recommend it, there should be a clear reason it belongs here.
The story starts in Jamaica
Jamaica shapes the way we look at useful things. Resourcefulness is part of everyday life: people grow, blend, repair, build, sew, crochet, cook and improvise. Knowledge moves through families. Craft develops one stitch and one decision at a time. Good ideas rarely stay inside one category.
That point of view is the root of Taylor’s Things. We want to carry Jamaican creativity forward without turning heritage into a costume, and we want to talk about traditional practices without turning tradition into unsupported health claims.
VitalLeaves brings that thinking into everyday care
VitalLeaves is our wellness and personal-care brand. The current line begins with Citrus Glow face-and-body cleansing bars, while herbal infusions and body-care products are developed with the same rule: know what is in the product, describe it clearly, and do not promise what we cannot support.
VitalLeaves is important to Taylor’s Things, but it is not the whole store. A good idea should not have to pretend to be a wellness product just to belong here.
Jamaican makers belong here too
Our Jamaican Artisan Collection gives handmade work room to stand on its own. The crochet pieces in the shop are individual finished items, not stock-photo stand-ins. When a listing says one of one, the photographs show the actual piece being sold.
That matters because handmade work carries the maker’s choices in a way mass production cannot reproduce: stitch tension, color combinations, shape, finishing and small variations that make one piece different from the next.
Useful things can be digital — or built from parts
Taylor’s Things is also a home for original software and thoughtfully built technology. The connection is usefulness. A piece of software can save someone hours; a carefully balanced computer can deliver more real-world value than a machine assembled around the most expensive parts on a spec sheet.
Whatever the format, we want the product to be understandable. What is it? What does it do? What are you actually getting? Those questions should have clear answers before anyone spends money.
Curated Finds have to earn the recommendation
Some useful products are made by other companies and sold by other retailers. When we feature one, we call it a Curated Find. We do the research, write our own explanation and make it clear when another seller handles the transaction.
If a recommendation can earn Taylor’s Things a commission, we disclose that relationship. Compensation does not replace judgment.

The categories are different on purpose. What connects them is the standard: a product should solve a real problem, improve a routine, show meaningful craftsmanship, deliver strong value, express an original idea or simply be something we are proud to put our name beside.
